Postsparkasse
Introduction:
The PSK, by Otto Wagner, is one of the most important buildings of the viennese architecture at the beginning of the modern time and was established in 1906. For this building new materials and techniques were used, e.g. linoleum for the floor, aluminium for the columns and glass bricks to light up the underlying room with natural light. The facade consists of square marble plates, which are fixed with rivets. Otto Wagner makes a point on function, light and hygiene.
